Dust Collection
I’ve had a few dust collection setups in my shop, all with a shop vac only. I will probably keep my current setup until we buy a new house, as I feel it works effectively for my small shop.
This is all powered by a dust deputy attached to a small shopvac which is hidden up behind the wall for sound dampening. The clear pvc piping is 2.5” and is attached to 5 different blast gates. The blue hoses are attached to the blast gates and are spread around the workshop. I’ve purchased these components from Rockler, Woodcraft, as well as Amazon for some of the Powertech stuff.
If you’re looking to build or modify a dust collection setup, here’s a couple great resources before you begin
Stumpy Nubs has a great video on his YouTube for common dust collection mistakes.
Also, as Stumpy Nubs mentions, BillPentz.com also has a wealth of resources on dust collection systems.
